I look up at your macro-skies,
dark and enormous,
your handmade sky-jewelry,
moon and stars
mounted in their settings.
Then I look at my micro-self
and wonder,
why do you bother with us?
Why take a second look our way?
Ps. 8.3-4

my inner smile

“I believe that there is a mysterious and graceful and miraculous coherence stitched through this world. I believe that this life is an extraordinary gift, a blink of bright light between vast darknesses…. I believe that the fingerprints of the Maker are everywhere: children, hawks, water. I believe that even sadness and tragedy and evil are part of that Mind we cannot comprehend but only thank, a Mind especially to be thanked, oddly, when it is most inscrutable.”

Hey, I’m Taylor!

I am a Portland native but currently study engineering in Seattle.

Sunrise is my favorite time of day and I wish I lived in a city where it wasn’t such a rarity to see.

I love running at the crack of dawn, sipping an oversized mug of chai, and being outside with my camera in hand.  The combination of those three would make for a perfect morning!

I also love glass jars and bottles, earth tones, and nature - especially sticks.

Someday I’d love to have an urban farm in Portland, with chickens and a pig.
